SUSTAINABILITY

Every day Action

In a circular economy, resources are used in a regenerative way, rather than a linear one. In 2020, we started a collaboration with impact organisation Circle Economy to generate insights into where we stand on circularity.

22 December 2021
We completed the circularity scans for half of our categories, providing clear direction to our raw material management.
Action Sustainability Programme (ASP)

Our growth comes with a responsibility that we accept and embrace. We believe that it is possible to continue to offer our surprising assortment at the lowest price, while improving the quality and sustainability of our products. We make sure Action customers feel good about their visit to our stores. Small prices. Big smiles. Feeling good.

We want to make sustainable products accessible. This cannot happen overnight – but we are committed to our journey and to achieving our ambitions.

We have made progress in recent years. Being cost-conscious makes us, by nature, very aware of conserving resources and limiting waste. When we can make even small changes, our size amplifies the impact of our actions, so we ultimately make a big difference.

Our sustainability agenda is inspired by the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and the related Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). We also take inspiration and direction from the European Green deal.

At Action, sustainability works on four different, yet connected levels:

For each of these four levels, there is a specific section in this Update2021. In each section, we share our ambition, our targets for 2025 and 2030 and what we achieved in 2021 to work towards those targets.
